From GeekPunk.com — the personal website/blog of me, Hero Happy Hour writer Dan Taylor…
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention on my site/blog that the Hero Happy Hour: On The Rocks graphic novel — written by yours truly with art by my co-conspirator Chris Fason — is now available for advance order from your favorite comic book retailer, be it the friendly neighborhood comic book shop or online shopping source. And, what better way to promote, than with a preview trailer? It works for the big-time Hollywood movies. (Unless it’s for M.Night Shyamalan’s After Earth staring big Will Smith and little Will Smith.)
Hero Happy Hour: On the Rocks is an all-new story — not a reprint of previously published comic books or webcomics from herohappyhour.com. It is 80 pages of original super heroes hanging out in a bar goodness in full color! Long time readers of (Super) Hero Happy Hour know that the earlier published incarnations were presented in black and white.
The Hideout Bar & Grill is once again open for business! Rusty the bartender once again serves up specials for his super heroic clientele of regulars, including Guardian, Night Ranger, Scout, Psiren, and the other super heroes of First City. But the happy hour is shaken when a new dilemma stirs up trouble, and the heroes begin to drop like flies. Is it a new threat slipping mickeys around the Hideout, or has an old foe returned for another round to declare “last call” for Hero Happy Hour?
Hero Happy Hour: On The Rocks is scheduled to hit comic book shops in the later half of August, but that doesn’t mean you can expect with 100% certainty that a copy will be available for you the day it is released. Comic books and graphic novels rely heavily on advanced orders. A lot of titles that don’t also feature blockbuster movie tie-ins aren’t guaranteed to be stocked by comic book retailers. The only way to be sure to get yourself a copy of Hero Happy Hour: On The Rocks is to advance order. Go to your local comic book shop and let them know that you want Hero Happy Hour: On The Rocks – Diamond Order Code JUN130753.
If you don’t know where your local comic book retailer is, you can use the Comic Shop Locator. I assume it’ll be available via Amazon.com, but it’s not showing up on their site yet. It looks like Barnes & Noble has it available for pre-order. If you want to get a jump on the masses clamoring for their copy (one can hope), I know you can advance order now from…
If there are any other online comic book retailers offering Hero Happy Hour: On The Rocks let me know and I’ll promote the hell out of ‘em.
For my friends that live near me in Orange County, Ca I recommend you visit Matt Powers’ Comics Toons N’ Toys in Tustin (Facebook, Yelp). In the Burbank area I recommend Paul Grimshaw’s House of Secrets. Other comic book retailers carrying Hero Happy Hour: On The Rocks…? Let me know.
And, since you’ve read this far regarding my promotional urging for you to order my new graphic novel I’ll serve up a little taste of Hero Happy Hour: On The Rocks…
As always, thanks for the support. Cheers!
